Me and my wife will arrive in Germany on June 3rd, and we've been offered to rent a really nice apartment in Flensburg. It has everything we need for our stay, but there's one "problem" (or maybe not?). The rental is only for 6 months.

Do you know if there are any rules/requirements in regard to the rental contract of accommodation when you apply for the EU residence card? I will be working in Germany, on a german contract, but the apartment we have been offered is only temporary for 6 months, and I worry if that could become a problem.

Does anyone know if they don't care about that? If they have any requirements? Or if they only require us to have a place to live at all time, while they deal with the application?

The foreigner office (Ausländerbehörde) can check the address registration from the town hall but not the rent contract. The rent contract is not their business.
