Can anybody help me with info in following sittuation:
I'm comming from CIS country and work in Germany for 3 years in IT industry having a greencard. Now I would like to marry a girl at home and bring her here. Will I be able to do this and are there any "undewater stones" in this issue?

Do you possess a so-called "befristete Aufenthaltserlaubnis"?

If so, it should be possible to get your future wife over here.

According to § 17 "Ausländergesetz" the authorities can grant your future wife a visa for the purpose of you and your wife living together. The following conditions have to be fulfilled:
1) You possess a "Aufenthaltserlaubnis" or "Aufenthaltsberechtigung"
2) There is sufficient living space
3) You can make a living for both you by your work, your own assets or own other means.

Of course it will be necessary that you provide proof for your marriage as well as living space, income, etc.

Another question connected to this:
My Aufenthaltserlaubnis is currently time limited (originally 5 years). I heard that according to new law comming in January 2005 there will be a possibility for people like me to ask for permanent residentship and work permit for unlimited time. It this true and what are the conditions for it?

At this forum there is a special sub-forum about the "Zuwanderungsgesetz", which is the new law you are referring to.

I haven't followed this discussion in detail, but my impression is that at the moment not all details are clear yet.

I recommend that you post directly in this subforum. Furthermore, generally I think it would be a good idea to post in German - if possible somehow. That would significantly increase your chance to get the infos you need.
